She was the eldest of six siblings and from an early age displayed the strength, responsibility and caring nature that would define her life.As a young woman, Tamuben married the late Laxmanbhai Muru. Before her marriage, she moved to Uganda with her parents and younger brother, where she established a new life and became a devoted wife and loving mother.In September 1972, due to the political unrest in Uganda, Tamuben and her family were forced to leave the country. Together with her husband and their five children, she settled in Loughborough, where her parents and siblings had already made their home. Loughborough remained her home for most of her life, where she built strong family and community ties and raised her family with dedication and care. Tamuben remained in Loughborough until the passing of her husband, Laxmanbhai.Shortly after arriving in the United Kingdom, Tamuben began working and spent many years employed at the Brush Factory. Through her hard work, friendly nature and genuine kindness, she formed many lasting friendships and earned the respect and affection of those around her before eventually retiring.Tamuben was introduced to the Brahma Kumaris in 1976 and later followed in the spiritual footsteps of her parents and her younger sister, Maniben. She developed a deep love for Baba, the Murli and the Brahma Kumaris family, remaining committed to her spiritual journey throughout her life.Despite working full-time and caring for her family, Tamuben would regularly attend the Centre at 25 Boyer Street and was committed to attending classes and spiritual programmes whenever possible. She embraced gyan wholeheartedly and found great joy in service and spiritual gatherings. Following her retirement, Tamuben dedicated much of her time to service through cooking at the Centre. She also spent many occasions serving at Global Co-operation House in London, where she worked tirelessly in the kitchen with love and dedication. Her selfless service, hardworking nature and caring spirit endeared her to everyone who knew her.Tamuben was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense happiness, pride and joy to her life. In her later years, Tamuben spent much of her time in India with her son, while continuing to visit the United Kingdom annually to be with her family, friends and spiritual family.Tamuben will be deeply missed by her family, friends and the Brahma Kumaris family. She will be remembered for her strength, dedication, loving nature, humility and unwavering spiritual faith. He lived in a small village in North Punjab called Apra in a family of six brothers and one sister with his father owning a motorbike business. After a period of illness and a recent hospitalisation, he peacefully left the body on 18 April and flew to Baba’s lap.In his early years, he witnessed the massacre between the India and Pakistan partition with blood on the streets – however these psychological scars never hindered him in any way. At the age of 16, he left his family and home, alone, with very little money or belongings, to go to the United Kingdom. He left without informing his mother – but like all mothers she was aware.Over the next 10 years, he worked across different parts of the UK working in foundries, blast furnaces and other dangerous jobs while sending money back to his family in India. A few years later in the mid 1960’s, two of his brothers joined him in the UK – the younger (Swan) and the elder one (Arjun).Getting a job became a challenge as he was under the legal age. While others refused the hard work, he was always ever-ready given the opportunity. He had a social life too, as he enjoyed a drink or two, in fact, 10 pints of lager was normal. Some mornings his manager would personally pick him up in his car as others refused to work in the furnace as it was that dangerous.Over the years he would return to India, he got married and had four children. It was in 1975 that he brought his family to the UK even though my mother (Sharda Devi) was reluctant to leave India. He wanted to settle in West Bromwich since he wanted a better life for his children. I was then born in 1975 (the mistake as they say).He did all types of service while living in a 3 bedroom house, along with his younger brother’s family – so 13 people in 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. He purchased a grocery store which my mother managed for 30 years, whilst his brother moved close by.My dad would typically go to the cash and carry at 4.00 am in the morning, come back, unload the van and then go to work in a chemical factory for 10 hours in the evening which continued over the next 20 years to ensure the family was comfortable.In 1980, his life was totally transformed when he came across a Brahma Kumaris centre just opposite the grocery store. Manuben was running the Brahma Kumaris centre in West Bromwich and became a very important person in my dad’s life. Once he joined the Brahma Kumaris, there was a complete change of lifestyle – he stopped eating meat and drinking alcohol overnight. Instead of the pub at night he would be in bed early to ensure he was up early to have meditation at 4.00 am in the morning.That same year, my mother also joined the Brahma Kumaris alongside him; she remained committed until her passing in 2006. Induben, his daughter, dedicated her life to the organisation at the age of 18 in 1986, while I later moved to London in 1998. From a young age, all five children regularly attended classes with Manuben.Over the years, he continued to work hard, managing his home and family, while focussing on his spirituality. In 1994, he stopped working in the Chemical factory as he could see the children were more than capable to run the family business with my mother. Dadi Janki asked him if he would come to help at the newly acquired Global Retreat Centre (GRC) in Oxford, so my dad left the home and family, because he felt he had fulfilled his responsibility for the family as all the children had grown up by now. So he left all of us for the Retreat Centre.Not long after. In 1996, he moved to Global Co-operation House (GCH) in London. His duties in the early years in GCH were doing night security which meant staying up all night and during the day, he would be helping wherever there was a need, managing with only a few hours of sleep.He enjoyed tutoring students from India, providing them with support and sustenance. From ensuring they had close accommodation near Global Co-operation House and they were eating God’s food, and then they would also do service in return.Recently, he financed a new Brahma Kumaris centre in Punjab. He was always so generous and wanted to leave a legacy. He did all of this out of his love for God.We all know dad loved his fruit and he loved to feed everyone else also. Any guests that came from India, without fail, my dad would invite them over to his flat to have a fruit party, and the papaya was a must, sometimes, mangoes and other fruits too. Once Mango season would start, people would order boxes from him. One of his other duties was going shopping for the centre – so every Wednesday and Saturday, dad would go shopping for the centre and many others would ask him to bring something for them too.He was a very hard working person, who was very firm with his discipline. He had great strength and courage for everything he did. He was very innocent and straightforward.Thank you, Dad, for your teachings and for the foundation you created for me. Many called Saddabhai their ATM… “Anytime I needed something, I would ask him and he would instantly give me whatever I asked, without asking a question.”The funeral service took place on 27 April, 2026. Dad, Grandad, Uncle, Brother – you were the support for everyone. She later settled in London, making her home in Seven Kings. As the youngest of four siblings, Jyoti carried deep sanskars of care, responsibility, and quiet strength, which she expressed throughout her life in her relationships with family and friends.From the early 1970s, she became a pillar of support for her brother’s family, helping them settle in London after their move from Kenya. With a generous heart, she continued to serve her extended family over the years, offering constant love, stability, and guidance to children and grandchildren alike. Professionally, Jyoti served for over 25 years at Dixons in Bond Street, London, as a senior sales assistant. She brought a natural lightness and positivity into her work, uplifting those around her with her calm presence and gentle smile.In 2011, Jyoti’s spiritual journey deepened when she came into knowledge through the Brahma Kumaris after attending a Shiv Ratri event in Ilford. Recognising the truth of being a soul, she embraced the path of Raja Yoga meditation with sincerity and faith. She became a regular student at the Ilford centre and would lovingly spend her weekends at Global Co-operation House in London, engaging in spiritual study, remembrance, and service.Jyoti was an embodiment of humility and contentment. She offered her time selflessly in service, whether in the kitchen or supporting programmes such as WANDS on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Her service was always performed with love and a pure heart, without seeking recognition. She was known for her constant smile and her ability to remain stable and positive, even in the face of physical challenges. She never complained, demonstrating the power of soul-consciousness and acceptance. Jyoti saw the goodness in everyone and made each person feel seen and valued, often taking the time to speak to individuals with genuine care and respect.Her life reflected the virtues of peace, love, and compassion. Through her connection with the Supreme and her practice of Raja Yoga, she experienced inner contentment and spiritual fulfilment, becoming an instrument to share subtle happiness with others.The funeral will took place on 23 April, 2026. From an early age, she developed a deep interest in God and became a regular member of her local church. As a young woman, she shared her faith by helping to teach children at the local Sunday School about Jesus.In 1956, Marjorie married Thomas Angell, and together they built a loving home. Their first daughter, Debra, was born in 1958, followed by Kim in 1960 and Tracey in 1964. Marjorie dedicated herself to her family, creating a warm and caring home where her children were deeply loved.As life went on, her children grew up and started families of their own, blessing Marjorie with four grandchildren whom she adored just as dearly as her own children.In the early 1980s, a chance meeting with a lady named Isabelle led Marjorie to visit the Brahma Kumaris Centre on Beeches Road in West Bromwich, run by Manuben. That visit marked a turning point in her spiritual journey — from then on, she became Baba’s child again.Through Raja Yoga and the Brahma Kumaris family, Marjorie met many wonderful people and immersed herself in the love, peace, and spiritual understanding it brought into her life. Over the years, she visited Madhuban as well as retreats in Oxford and London. She held a special affection for all the Dadis and would eagerly look forward to programmes where they were present.I remember attending many of these events with her — one that stands out was seeing Dadi Janki on stage at the Albert Hall, such a tiny lady radiating immense Godly power. Marjorie had a particular love for Dadi Janki and Sister Jayanti (who was a young woman at that time), as well as for dear Manu behn, with whom she was connected from around 1984 until the West Bromwich Centre closed.Marjorie cherished the Centre deeply and missed it greatly when it closed. She formed lasting friendships with Sister Margaret, Sister Paula, Sister Pat, Sister Shanti behn, Sister Gurdev, Sister Devkie, and many more.There is no doubt that finding Baba enriched her life beyond measure. Even in her later years, when anxiety about travelling — especially by car or on the motorway — made things more difficult, her devotion to Baba never wavered. She remained steadfast in her faith until she left the body.Marjorie will be deeply missed by so many. She was a loving and caring person who always saw the best in others.For me personally, no words can express how much I will miss my mother. Yet I take comfort in knowing that our souls will meet again — somewhere, sometime.Reflections from her BK Birmingham and West Bromwich FamilyWhen Sister Marj first came to the centre, I asked her name, and she replied, “Marj Angel.” Right then, I told her that she has to become an angel — and indeed, she truly was one, a real angel. I feel deeply honoured to have known such a special and unique sister. My heartfelt best wishes for her onward journey, with lots of love to her and the family — Sister ManuSister Marj was an original jewel of West Bromwich Centre. Angel by name, angelic by nature, so quiet and gentle, she created no fuss or conflict, only sweet kind words for everyone. Marge also loved the fun of being part of this BK family, especially significant events and gatherings. On many occasions her creativity contributed to decorating the&nbsp;centre or making props and costumes for our in-house performances. Before this technical age, she contributed hundreds of delightful hand-written blessings that were beautiful works of art. In recent years her age and health issues were challenges but she remained dedicated to Baba, Murli and shrimat. Her valuable presence in this family made a difference – Sr PaulaMarjorie was reflective, sweet, calm and accepting. She had a warm and pleasant smile and a good wish for all.
