Sacramento BK Events Honor MLK Day, Shiv Jayanti, Holi & Earth Day

MLK DAY CELEBRATION

Brahma Kumaris celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Day at Sacramento State University Union Ballroom. The day is celebrated to honor and remember the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This annual event unites the community and brings together diverse voices to honor Dr. King’s remarkable contributions and continue the work toward a more just and equitable world.

Students from different schools from various counties participated in the Annual MLK celebration Essay contest. A large gathering of people about 400 to 500 in number attend and participate in the event.

Brahma Kumaris join this event every year, conduct meditation, and share divine wisdom with everyone. Sister Hansa has been elected as one of the board members of the interfaith council.

SHIV JAYANTI CELEBRATION

88th Shiv Jayanti celebrated at baba’s new home. All BK sisters and brothers as well as contact souls joined the celebration. The celebration started with wellness class followed by sister Hansa’s sharing on Shiv Jayanti. Sisters celebrated the occasion with singing and dancing. Everyone hoisted Baba’s flag outside. All the brothers and sisters were holding garland of Baba’s flag and chanted Om Shanti.

Sister Hansa visited several Baba’s children and celebrated Shiv Jayanti at their houses with BK Vijay and Br. Satish. Sister shared Shiv Jayanti message with the families and gave them toli and gifts.

HOLI CELEBRATION WITH NEPALI FAMILIES

Sister Hansa and few Baba’s children celebrated Holi in the park with Nepali families.

The families were very grateful of Sister Hansa’s visit and her sharing on Holi stories and its true spiritual meaning. 

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

One of the biggest Earth Day festivals organized by non-profit organizations of Sacramento, the environmental counsil of Sacramento Capital city of California. More than 100 booths and tables from a variety of nature-loving people including vegan societies, vegetarian societies, and a variety of health, nature, and spiritual awareness groups joined. Hundreds to thousands of people visited during the day.

It was organized at Southside Community Park in downtown Sacramento special place. Brahma Kumaris has participated in the Earth Day celebration for the last 10 years. This year also it was a wonderful opportunity for people. They stopped by to spin the virtual wheel and everyone was receiving the gift of a ball pen, some people were tying bracelets as a symbol of their special virtue, and everyone received blessing cards.
