The 78th Cannes Film Festival 2025, one of the most prestigious events in world cinema, this year showcased a unique confluence of India’s spiritual heritage and creative excellence. Held from May 13 to 24, the grand festival featured a special event at the Indian Pavilion, where the trailer of the animated film “The Light,” produced by Brahma Kumaris’ Godlywood Studio, was presented with great fanfare. For the first time in the history of the Yagya, the voice of the Brahma Kumaris resonated at the 78th Cannes Film Festival 2025 through the film 'The Light'.

The event was hosted by Ms. Garima Singh, Deputy Director (Media & Entertainment), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). She praised this initiative for highlighting India’s cultural and creative talent on a global platform.

Renowned Paris-based actress and cultural ambassador Ms. Marianne Borgo had earlier viewed the film "The Light" as a jury member at the Khajuraho Film Festival 2024 in Khajuraho and the Rajasthan Film Festival 2024 in Jodhpur. She witnessed the film winning First Prize in the Animation category and was deeply moved by its spiritual depth.

This experience led to her connection with Godlywood Studio, and she eventually became a part of the “The Light” film team. Feeling a profound resonance with the film’s emotional and spiritual themes, she contributed significantly to its French dubbed version and took upon herself the responsibility of promoting the film across French-speaking countries.

Consequently, Ms. Marianne Borgo was appointed the International Brand Ambassador of “The Light” and, in this capacity, she officially represented the film on behalf of Godlywood Studio at the 78th Cannes Film Festival 2025.

During the event, Ms. Borgo shared her heartfelt and impactful thoughts on the film’s core messages — including spiritual awakening, inner transformation, peace, and global unity.

Speaking in an emotional tone, she said:

"This film is not just an animation — it is a journey of the soul. I feel as though Baba Himself has chosen me to carry this light forward."

The film is produced by Mr. Harilal Bhanushali, and the Creative Producer is acclaimed filmmaker Shoojit Sircar, best known for his work on socially relevant and emotionally rich cinema. The animation for the film has been created by I. Realities Private Limited.

So far, the film has proven to be a beacon of awareness and self-transformation at both national and international levels. Over 4,50,000 Indian and international viewers have watched “The Light” in cinemas.

“The Light” is not merely a cinematic creation — it is a powerful medium to carry India’s spiritual values and the universal message of peace to the world.
