Omshanti

May 4th marks one year since our beloved Sister Gita transitioned into an elevated role in Baba’s subtle service. Her presence may have shifted from the physical, but the fragrance of her love, humor, and tireless seeva continues to remind us of Baba’s love.

Today , we gathered for a heartfelt remembrance at the Meditation Museum with dear souls she had touched—some who served closely with her, others who were simply transformed by her gentle strength and divine care. It was a moment filled with love, laughter, tears, and deep gratitude.

We’re also overjoyed to share that Inscribe Press has published “The Sister Gita Effect: Living in Love with the Divine”, a memoir that captures her journey—before and after meeting Baba. It’s a tender, inspiring read that brings her essence to life and reminds us of the power of love and service.

Tomorrow, we will offer Bhog and sit in silent yoga, celebrating the luminous soul that was—and is—our Sister Gita. You’re warmly invited to share in this remembrance through the video from our memorial gathering. Whether you watch in full or simply land where your heart leads, may you feel her divine presence embracing you.

Sister Gita
Poem by BK Akshay

Half a decade prior
I met a soul, bright as fire.
With eyes that took me higher
And endless enthusiasm, far beyond tire.
With love in her glance
And joy in her dance
She broke your shell of sorrow
And put you into a joyous trance.
She only gave, never took.
She filled your heart with the food she cooked.
Full of wisdom, she was a large, open book.
She would fill you with knowledge with just one look.
Her spirit was peaceful as a dove
For she remained ever in love with the One above.
Within the hearts of thousands, she lit a flame
To tame the devils within, which were left untamed.
The grace with which she walked and spoke,
The humor with which she told a joke,
All of it lit up my heart,
This was her wonderful part.
She carried herself as though she were nobility
Yet she lifted up those around her with her humility.
Such was her remarkable role
Without which our memory would not be whole.
We will always remember Sister Gita
For the lesson she taught, crystal clear,
That joy cures sorrow and that love heals fear.
Om Shanti.
