Beginning, middle and the end!

Deepawali, or New Year a common festival between Russia and India

Deepawali or the festival of lights in Bharat symbolizes the end of the old and the beginning of the new. Very much like a New Year festival with many commoness. Comparing the traditions and customs of New Year's Eve celebrations in Russia and India, we noted that they are very similar. In both the countries people clean the house, get rid of old things, light garlands and candles, cook a lot of treats, visit to the friends and relatives, greet and give gifts.…

Russians also love fairy tales, which certainly involve Father Frost, Snow Maiden, and Baba-Yaga! These fabulous characters became the guests of our New Year's festival at the Mayak Mira, Moscow.

In Russia, Snow Maiden, Father Frost's helper, is a symbol of joy, lightness and festive mood. In Bharat, Lakshmi is a symbol of spiritual and material well–being. It was a very beautiful and symbolic meeting.

Famous negative characters Baba - Yagas secretly came to the party to disrupt it. But they were painted by the colours of the wonderful company, fell under the influence of a magical atmosphere and no longer wanted to do nasty things and harm others. They decided to become Raja Yoginis!

Whitewind sang her gentle snow song, and Snowstorm danced a beautiful New Year's dance with the Snow Maiden and Snowflakes.

A New Year is impossible without Father Frost. He pretended to be strict and asked the grandchildren to tell him about their successes over the year at the Highest School, the God’s University. And then, together with senior teachers Didi Sudha and brother Vijay, he cheerfully congratulated everyone on the holiday.

Participants of the program, seniors and guests lit candles and cut a large cake. Good mood, blessings and gifts from Baba – what else do we need for happiness?!

Final moments

New Year Greetings
