Celebrating the legacies of Brahma Baba & Rev Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Time Itself is Ready for Change

January 19: “Time Itself is Ready for Change” hosted at the Pullman Miami Airport Hotel was an opportunity to engage a new segment of the community in a novel way.  The program itself had many components:  a video visit to the MLK memorial in Washington, clips of Canon Lloyd Casson’s reflections about MLK and his visit to Madhuban, live music, short presentations by local changemakers, audience participation,  a World Wall where participants offered their commitments, and a deep discussion of the  vision and values which Brahma Baba and MLK shared which continue to shape modern practices of peace and personal growth.

Speakers included BK Veronica, Pema Reid a recognized leader in transformative practices who reveals the importance of a life of service and Roni Bennett - Cofounder & Executive Director of South Florida People of Color. A highlight was hearing the local nonprofit leaders sharing the qualities of Brahma Baba even though they knew nothing of the Brahma Kumaris prior to this event.  The evening concluded with a live meditation commentary tying the evening to World Meditation Hour and anchoring each one’s personal commitment to continue the legacies of both MLK and Brahma Baba and the commitment that each attendee emerged as a changemaker themselves.
