Dear Brothers & Sisters,

Sister Laura, born in Australia, was married and had five children. Laura was always a carer and worked as a nurse. Laura became attracted to alternative therapies in the 1980’s when she moved to the UK to Tunbridge Wells. She was always interested in new ideas that would improve people’s health and well-being.

She met the BKs around 2006, and on her very first lesson she brought three other new people who all went on to hear the Murli. Laura loved the Murli which for her was then on skype, and Laura drove to class on Sundays. She always took notes and even up to the age of 92 her handwriting was still legible. The Brighton family always called her Laura 'Joyfull' because that’s what she was! Laura always encouraged everyone she met to come and join the BK courses, workshops and retreats. Many, many souls were served because of Laura.

Laura, with her caring nature, was always positive. She appreciated every scene in drama and used her experience to serve others. She used to ask Baba every day to use her for whatever service ‘He’ wished. Laura moved herself to a care home at the age of 90, where she immediately arranged for us to use one of the lounges to meet monthly for meditation and classes.

After her 92nd birthday Laura had a fall and broke her leg. Sadly, she then got an infection in her foot and was never able to walk again. She resigned herself to being in a wheelchair but that didn’t stop her enjoying life! She loved to paint, and in April 2024, resumed her art classes at the care home.

Laura’s health deteriorated in the middle of June and within a few days she flew into Baba’s lap. Laura always added something extra to the group; she loved to interact with everyone and everyone loved her. Laura will be sadly missed.

Her funeral was held on 24 July at Tunbridge Wells crematorium.
