As a professional singer from Portugal, my life has always been filled with melodies and rhythms. However, it was after my marriage that I discovered the transformative power of Rajyoga, which significantly changed the way I perceive love and relationships.
Discovering My True Self - My journey began with a profound realization during my first Rajyoga class. I was captivated by the questions: "Who am I? To whom do I belong? What is my purpose in life?" These questions resonated deeply within me, especially as I reflected on my connection to God. Initially, I viewed God as a distant entity, but through Rajyoga, I began to see Him as a loving soul—an eternal source of light.
Encouraged by my initial experience, I introduced my husband to Rajyoga. Together, we embarked on this enlightening journey, attending classes that opened our eyes to a deeper understanding of ourselves and each other. The knowledge we gained was not just theoretical; it became a way of life.
A Shift in Our Relationship - Rajyoga taught me that love transcends physicality. It is a bond of the soul, enriched with respect, patience, and understanding. I learned that true love does not confine but liberates. This realization transformed my marriage, allowing me to see my husband as a soul, rather than merely a partner in the physical sense.
During my first retreat, surrounded by nature's beauty, I penned a poem for my husband, inviting him to add a melody. This collaborative creation, born from silence and introspection, marked a turning point in our relationship. I discovered that simply gazing into his eyes was enough to fulfill me; our connection deepened beyond words and physical touch.
The Essence of Pure Love - In a world often marred by jealousy and possessiveness, Rajyoga taught me that love should not come with pain. I witnessed how societal narratives often equate love with suffering, but I realized that pure love, derived from our connection with God, brings joy and peace. It fosters an environment where both partners grow and respect each other’s individuality.
True love involves understanding that while we share a soul consciousness, our individual journeys and histories differ. Embracing this diversity creates a space for genuine connection, free from the confines of body consciousness.
The Path Forward - Embracing Rajyoga has been an ongoing process. It requires dedication, meditation, and continuous effort—what we call tapasya (penance). It is through this practice that I have cultivated a deeper relationship with God, which in turn has enriched my relationships with others.
As I continue my journey, I aspire to share the essence of Rajyoga through my music. I believe that the messages of love, peace, and connection can resonate with many, guiding them toward a more profound understanding of relationships.
A Call to Reflect
To anyone seeking to transform their relationships, I encourage you to explore the principles of Rajyoga. It’s a journey worth taking—one that invites you to look beyond the surface, to embrace love that is pure and eternal.
In a world where love is often misinterpreted, let us seek the light that guides us toward deeper connections. Remember, true love is not about possession but about liberation.
