As I look back over the past 26 years, my spiritual journey seems nothing short of miraculous. From my origins in Moscow to the sacred teachings of the Brahma Kumaris University in India, my life has transformed in ways I could never have imagined. This path has been an odyssey of self-discovery, love, and connection with the divine.

The Quest for Goodness

It all began when I was in my mid-twenties. As a young graduate of Moscow State University, working in the Russian Academy of Sciences, I often pondered life’s deeper questions. I felt an innate desire to be good and to uncover the essence of my personality. However, I was unsure how to manifest this goodness in my daily life.

One day, while immersed in the largest library in Moscow, I stumbled upon spiritual scriptures that spoke of life’s purpose and the journey of the soul. These readings ignited a spark within me. At the same time, a colleague introduced me to the Brahma Kumaris—a serendipitous moment that would change my life forever.

Encountering the Divine Truth

My first encounter with the Brahma Kumaris was profound. Seeing my teachers, dressed in serene white attire, I felt an inexplicable trust in their presence. They exuded a purity and strength that resonated deeply with me. Their teachings on the soul, karma, and the eternal truth provided answers to questions I had long held in my heart. For the first time, I began to understand the essence of who I am—a point of light, an eternal soul.

Embracing a New Path

Transitioning to a spiritual lifestyle was not difficult for me. While many might find the pull of worldly pleasures tempting, I sought deeper, more meaningful connections. Superficial relationships and transient enjoyments had little appeal. Instead, I yearned for relationships founded on love and truth.

Before joining the Brahma Kumaris, I had already adopted a vegetarian lifestyle after recognizing its health and ethical benefits. This aligned perfectly with the teachings of the university, affirming my belief in the interconnectedness of all life. The philosophy of karma and the practice of meditation brought clarity and purpose to my actions, allowing me to cultivate genuine goodness within.

Finding Strength and Love

As I progressed on this journey, I began to see remarkable changes in myself. Where I was once overly sensitive, I grew stronger and more resilient. The teachings of the Brahma Kumaris instilled a balance of gentleness and strength within me. They taught me how to navigate life with dignity and grace, even in the face of challenges.

One of the most profound realizations was the discovery of divine love. Having lost my father at a young age, I often felt a void in my heart. The teachings helped me understand that the Supreme Soul, God, is the eternal father of all souls. This realization filled the emptiness with an unwavering sense of love and belonging.

A Homecoming in India

Five years after beginning my spiritual journey, I traveled to India for the first time. The moment I stepped onto Indian soil, I felt a deep sense of homecoming. The vibrant colors, the warmth of the people, and the spiritual energy of the land awakened something within me. It was as if I had returned to a place I had always known.

India became my second motherland, nurturing my soul just as Russia had nurtured my intellect and talents. While Russia gave me the best of worldly education and culture, India offered me spiritual rebirth and enlightenment. Together, these two motherlands shaped me into the person I am today.

Sharing the Light

Today, as a teacher and practitioner of Raja Yoga meditation, I feel immense gratitude for the journey that brought me here. Through my association with the Brahma Kumaris, I have witnessed countless lives transformed, including my own. The organization’s inclusive and global approach ensures that anyone, regardless of age or background, can embark on a spiritual journey and find the truth within themselves.
